Description
This project offers an opportunity to explore both interpreting in medical settings and in managing interactive events as an interpreter. It offers strategies and resources for developing competency in interpreting information that might be discussed in a cardiology appointment. The scenarios presented are filmed with two separate camera angles, the last of which depicts the deaf consumers, the interpreter, and the doctor, and is offered in both consecutive and simultaneous interpreting formats. At the conslusion of the CD, the project interpreter offers perspectives on her work. Transcripts/summaries of all dialogues on the CD are available for printing.
