Description
Language acquisition and development in hearing children is explored on this DVD. Through each stage of development, from infancy to the schoolage years, language becomes more complex and understanding broadens. While children are learning to speak, they are also learning skills which enable them to read and write. This DVD explores how the acquisition of language is influenced by the adults who interact with the child and by the society or culture in which the child lives. Language helps children reason and think, to communicate feelings and needs, and to relate to others.
