Description
This software provides information about cued speech, a manual support system invented to improve reading abilities of deaf and hard of hearing persons. Cued speech combines handshapes and placements with mouth movements to represent the consonants anf vowels of a language. In addition to presenting the complete American English system in fourteen lessons with an additional class providing extra practice, this DVD provides a brief history, a comprehensive explanation of the system, cueing community members and their stories, and research on cued speech and its effect on language and literacy.
