An interactive DVD that presents differences between deaf and hearing cultures and is designed to help ASL and Deaf culture students become more comfortable about attending deaf community events. Included are: 18 potentially awkward situations that might occur in deaf culture interaction with three possible solutions; exercises to encourage viewers to develop the right attitude toward Deaf culture; tips on how to locate appropriate deaf community events; and opportunites in increased awareness of some features of ASL including listing, fingerspelling, repetition and backchanneling.
